It's easy to have fun in Carlsbad.
More than 5 miles of beautiful coastline offer clean,
uncrowded beaches for swimming, fishing, wind surfing, jogging and
sunbathing.
Other major event includeS the
Carlsbad 5000 in April. This premier 5K race attracts the world's fastest distance runners.
In July, The Carlsbad Triathlon
garners national attention and in January, the entire course of the San Diego Marathon
is in Carlsbad.
The
Carlsbad Village Faires,
held the first Sunday in May and November, are the largest single day street fairs in California. Every October,
Carlsbad hosts its annual Oktoberfest
celebration where you will find a German dinner, entertainment, strudel, specialty beers and hot dogs at Holiday Park.

The city of Carlsbad features some of the country's leaders in high tech, multi-media, health
care and biotechnology. Numerous factors attract corporate headquarters, including the high quality of
education, freeway access, McClellan-Palomar Airport, moderately priced
labor and housing - not to mention the weather and beaches.
Recently, the Valley Middle School in Carlsbad and La Costa Canyon High School were nationally recognized as Blue Ribbon schools

| Legoland , a theme park designed for families and children under twelve, features giant sculptures made of Legos. Legoland is expected to bring millions of visitors to Carlsbad and San Diego in the years to come. |
| Carlsbad is a major commercial flower growing center in California. The "Bird of Paradise" was first developed commercially here and is the city's official flower. From mid March to early May the hillsides are carpeted with ranunculus and other multi-color flowers. |
| In late November through the first of the new year, The Flower Fields celebrate the holidays with an unusual display of poinsettias. Guests are encouraged to walk through the fields to experience the "Poinsettia Star" up close and take in the panoramic view overlooking the Pacific Ocean. March through April the fields are planted with rainbows of ranuculas which are a visual delight from the air, from your car as well as on foot. |
